Study Unit 2

And we're back with another week of assignments, tests and deadlines. If anyone knows where I can get a caffeine drip please let me know :o

Indigenous African music, Western Art music or Contemporary Commercial music?

Although I appreciate traditional and western music, I'm going to have to go with contemporary commercial music for this one. Contemporary music includes a wide range of genres, from pop to film and commercial music. Today's kids are well-versed in everything, and it's something that all students are aware of and familiar with. They could have heard it anywhere, be it in a movie, on a commercial, or even playing out in the supermarket! Plus, they're super fun! :)

Are the examples & content in Study Unit 2 inclusive?

In my opinion, the examples and content provided in Study Unit 2 are inclusive. We were provided with everything we needed to know about music, as well as the different components that make it up. The examples & content taught me things I wasn't even aware of before and it included a lot of information about diverse cultures & languages and their music :)

Suggestions for making the content more inclusive

I have to admit, this study unit was one of the best study units I've worked through out of all of my modules, I thoroughly enjoyed it! The only thing I can suggest is to provide examples of all of the grades in the Foundation Phase, as the examples were mostly for Grade 1. Aside from that, this was a very enjoyable and informative study unit, I look forward to the rest of the study units! :)
